Best Maple Pecan Latte Recipe: Easy Homemade Fall Coffee Drink

With fall comes the added benefit of seasonal coffee drinks that many coffee shops make. However, making your own is much cheaper and you can make it from the comfort of your own home. A maple pecan latte is the perfect example of this.

The nuttiness of the pecans combines perfectly with the sweetness of maple syrup. Think of this latte as a maple pecan pie in a cup with the added benefit of coffee.

Ingredients for a Maple Pecan Latte

  1. Coffee grounds
  2. 1 cup milk
  3. 1 tsp maple syrup
  4. 1 tbsp pecan butter
  5. Whipped cream
  6. Pecan nuts

What Coffee to Use

Do I Need an Espresso Machine?

If you don’t have an espresso machine, it is not a problem at all. A moka pot or AeroPress will do the job just as well.

What Coffee Beans are Best?

I really like Starbucks’ Pike Place roast and use it when I am in the mood for a medium roast. When I crave the taste of a dark roast, Starbucks’ Caffè Verona is one of my go-to roasts.

What Milk to Use

Whole milk gives your drink a great velvety texture and is a little bit sweeter. On the other hand 2% milk or skim milk have a little less calories. Any of these will work well to make this latte and it is completely up to you which you want to use.

Dairy Alternatives

If you cannot or don’t want to use dairy milk, you can always opt for plant-based milk. There are many options such as soy milk, almond milk, oat milk or coconut milk.

Look for the barista versions of these milks for the best results.

Do I Have to Roast the Pecans?

No, you don’t, but I promise it is worth the little bit of extra effort. Roasting the nuts brings out different flavors that is simply amazing.

Iced Maple Pecan Latte

You can, of course, make this latte into an iced version. Simply let the maple pecan sauce cool before using it. And instead of steaming the remaining milk, froth some cold milk. Also, add some coffee ice cubes.
